I stayed at the Best Western Hotel the night before move-in day at Brandeis University. The hotel's online description promised clean rooms, a continental breakfast, and free transportation to the University. Upon my arrival (after a 6 hour flight), I found myself dragging a semester's worth of belongings up a few flights of stairs- there were no elevators in my wing- and down a hallway smelling of stale cigarette smoke. In the morning, I learned the continental breakfast consisted of dry bagels, a few blackened bananas and bowls of jelly packets. Even worse, the transportation promotion had been canceled, and I hadn't been informed. I suppose the best part of this experience was the free cab ride the hotel provided when I complained.
